What the site does not collect
Every page, font and script comes from vardis.is. No analytics, no ad networks, no third-party content networks. The one exception is the contact form: when you start filling it in, it loads Cloudflare Turnstile from challenges.cloudflare.com to stop spam.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver the pages, Cloudflare processes technical data about each request, such as the IP address.
Cookie
The site sets one cookie, lang. It remembers the language you picked and holds is or en and nothing else. It lasts one year and is set only when you pick a language.
The contact form
The contact form sends your name, email address, company domain if you give one, and your message. We use them only to reply to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation), or steps you ask for before an agreement (Article 6(1)(b)).
The site itself stores nothing. The message goes by email through Cloudflare to info@vardis.is, which Cloudflare forwards to our mailbox at Google (Gmail). Cloudflare and Google may process the data outside Iceland.
We delete the message 12 months after our last exchange, unless it leads to an agreement. Then we keep it as long as the agreement and the law require.
Against spam the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It loads from challenges.cloudflare.com only when you start filling in the form, and it processes your IP address, TLS fingerprint and browser user agent to tell people from bots. Cloudflare says it does not use them to identify, profile or target anyone.
